Dr. Pradipta Chakraborty, Dean (Academics) He has done his schooling from R.K. Mssion V.V. Mandir and also at Malda Zilla School. He has graduated in Political Science from the R.K. Mission Vidyamandir, Belur under the University of Calcutta. He is a Post-Graduate in Political Science from the University of North Bengal. He has completed B.Ed from the University of Burdwan. He completed his MPhil in Political Science from the University of North Bengal. Lastly he earned the Ph.D in Political Science from the University of North Bengal.

Presently serving at the Indian Institute of Legal Studies, Siliguri as Dean (Academics), he always finds teaching as a natural profession. His first assignment was as an Assistant Teacher in R.K. Mission High School, Cherrapunjee, Meghalaya, followed by DAV Model School, Durgapur, St. Joseph's College, School Department, Darjeeling, St. Xavier's College, Rajgunj, Jalpaiguri, DPS School, Durgapur, Siliguri.

Apart from his teaching profession he has keen interest in serving the not so fortunate people to see them living a dignified life and contributing to the society to uplift the others.
