Ambedkar Jayanti is celebrated on the occasion of birth anniversary of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar on 14th of April every year. This very day is declared to be World Knowledge Day by UN, as a tribute to the man who fought tirelessly to eradicate the caste system and gain equal rights for the citizens of India. In honour of such an eminent personality like him, the Indian Institute of Legal Studies sort to conduct a knowledge imparting debate competition. The topic was selected with the purview of the recent societal conditions, "INTIMIDATION, HARRASMENT AND VIOLENCE HAVE NO PLACE IN DEMOCRACY". The program commenced by paying tribute and homage to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar followed by a mind storming debate session of 2 hours, that made a hype among all the participants as well as the spectators. Jointly the 1st Intra-College Debate Competition 2018 was a great success. The winner received a cash prize of Rs. 5,000/- and the Runners Up Rs. 3,000/-.
