Mr. Tanmay Roy is currently working as an Assistant Professor of Law at Indian Institute of Legal Studies, Siliguri. He has completed his B.A. LL. B. (Hons.) from National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi having Criminal Law Specialization in the year 2021. He has then completed his LL.M from The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences having Corporate and Commercial Laws as his specialization stream in the year 2023. His LL.M Dissertation was on the topic, "Unfair Trade Practices In Capital Markets: A Critical Analysis Of The Regulatory Framework With Special Emphasis On Fraud, Manipulation And Insider Trading In India Vis-À-Vis U.S.A and U.K." He has cleared the UGC-NET Examination in Law (December, 2023). He has been a very active student during his undergraduate and post graduate life where he has served as the Student Convenor of the Sports Committee, has worked as a member of Centre for Aviation and Space Laws and as a Research Intern in the Centre for Regulatory Studies Governance and Public Policy at WBNUJS Kolkata and has organized several International Seminars and Conferences.
He has presented his paper titled, "Guardians Of Glory: IPR And Transformation Of Sports In India" in International e-Conference on Technology Law and Public Policy and the same has been accepted for further publication as an edited book by CRSGPP at WBNUS Kolkata. He is currently inclined towards excelling in the academic field and hopes to contribute and leave an impact in the same.
His areas of interest include Laws on Securities and Financial Markets, Anti-Dumping Laws, Corporate Law, Bankruptcy Laws and International Commercial Arbitration.
