School Visit At Sonada High School, Sonada

On the 8th of April 2024, an enlightening legal awareness session took place at Sonada High School, Sonada, aimed at educating students on various aspects of law and their significance in society.
The session commenced with Ashim Eric Ghatany, Assistant Professor of Law and three student speakers, each shedding light on critical legal topics. Ishan Chhetri, a final semester student pursuing 5 Years B.A. LL.B (Honours) , took the stage as the student convener. He delivered an insightful discourse on the intricacies of cybercrime, emphasizing the importance of understanding digital laws in the modern age.
Following Ishan, Subhankar Ghosh, also in his final semester of 5 Years B.A. LL.B. (Honours), assumed the role of student co-convener. His presentation delved into the nuances of FIR, Zero FIR, and G.D., elucidating the procedures involved and their implications in the legal system.
Subsequently, Saloni Giri, an executive member, pursuing 5 Years B.A. LL.B. (Honours), captivated the audience with her discussion on women's rights in India. She highlighted various legal provisions and initiatives aimed at empowering women and combating gender-based discrimination.
Rounding off the line up of speakers was Rohit Tamang, an executive member pursuing 5 Years BBA LL.B.(Honours). He expounded upon the right to know as a fundamental right, elucidating its significance in ensuring transparency and accountability in governance and public affairs.
The session culminated in an engaging interactive discussion led by Mr. Ashim Eric Ghatany, Assistant Professor of Law. The discussion veered towards career counseling, addressing the students' queries and concerns regarding their future paths in the legal field. The students found this segment particularly valuable, as it provided them with invaluable insights and guidance for their professional journey ahead.
