We are delighted to announce that the Indian Institute of Legal Studies conducted an impactful Legal Aid and Awareness session for the students of classes 11 and 12. The sessions aimed to educate the students on essential legal concepts and provide career guidance.
Topics Covered:
Consumer Protection Act:
-Students learned about their rights as consumers and the mechanisms available for redressal.
-The importance of being informed consumers and how to lodge complaints effectively was emphasized.
-Comparative study between the Act of 1986 and 2019.
Fundamental Rights and Duties:
-The session highlighted the key fundamental rights guaranteed by the Indian Constitution.
-Students were also informed about their duties as responsible citizens.
Career Counselling and Group Discussion (G.D):
-Speaker provided insights into various career options post-school.
-Techniques for effective group discussions were demonstrated, preparing students for competitive environments.
F.I.R and ZERO F.I.R:
-The process of filing a First Information Report (F.I.R) was explained in detail.
-The concept of ZERO F.I.R, which can be filed at any police station irrespective of jurisdiction, was also covered.
The session was interactive, with students actively participating and engaging with the speakers. This initiative not only enhanced their legal literacy but also prepared them for future career challenges
