Free Legal Aid and Awareness Program at Park Location Supermarket, Community Hall in Kurseong

The Free Legal Aid & Awareness Program aimed at educating the community about their legal rights and duties, thus providing them knowledge regarding the socio- legal issues, this initiative is a collaborative effort between the Indian Institute of Legal Studies, Siliguri and the Better Tomorrow Foundation in collaboration with the Sub Divisional Legal Services Authority, Kurseong.

- Right to information, 2005  and human trafficking 

3. Ms. Ambika Giri Semester -VIII Volunteer,Legal Aid Committee

 - Domestic violence 

We express our sincere gratitude to our distinguished alumni of Indian Institute of legal studies, Ms. Saloni Giri for her valuable contribution and address during the awareness camp.

The various resource persons who have graced the program and illuminated the event were as follows :

Kurseong Municipality  Chairman- Sir Birgen Gurung,   Kurseong Municipality Vice Chairman- Sir Subash Pradhan, Executive officer- Sir Khailash Prasad, Kurseong Municipality Head Clerk- Sir Suran Khatwal, IICE Management Institute- Roshni Rai , Chairperson of Kurseong Sub Divisional Legal Services Authority- Sujit Kumar Mehrotra, Director of Glorious Institute of Hospitality- Binita Tewang ,Evan Foundation NGO- Sir Prashant Sharma. 

These people addressed regarding critical social issues, emphasizing the importance of helping the poor in need and for taking strong action against child trafficking and child abuse, also we had Sir Dewang Lama of We care Foundation NGO, who addressed regarding drug abuse and also mentioned how the program organised through Indian institute of legal studies helped to aware the local residents about the trending issues like domestic violence and cyber crimes, Also we had  members from Human Rights Gorkha Haat with us.

The program concluded with a sincere objective of promoting justice thereby with an interactive session.
