We are pleased to announce that the Indian Institute of Legal Studies conducted an impressive Legal Aid and Awareness session for the students of classes 11 and 12. The session aimed to educate the students on various legal concepts and provide career guidance for their bright future.
Topics Covered:
General Diary, First Information Report & Zero FIR:
-Students were informed about an overview of the General Diary & First Information Report.
-A detailed study of ZERO F.I.R., which can be filed at any police station irrespective of jurisdiction, was also covered.
-The process that should be followed to lodge General Diary, FIR & Zero FIR has been effectively emphasized.
-Comparative study between the processes under Cr. P.C & Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita
Right to Privacy with special reference to Internet Safety and IT Act,2000
-The session highlighted the key fundamental rights guaranteed by the Indian Constitution.
-Students were also informed about the safety measures that should be followed while using the internet.
-All Pros & Cons of using the internet have been duly informed to the students.
Right to Information with Special reference to Article 19 (1)(a) of The Constitution of India:
-The fundamental source of the RTI Act,2005 has been properly explained.
-An overview of the right to know as a fundamental right has been made.
-The rights that are available to a citizen under the RTI Act and the duties that Public Information Officers are bound to perform have been properly explained.
Career Counselling and Group Discussion (G.D):
-The speaker provided insights into various career options post-school.
-The speaker has properly explained the exposure of choosing LAW AS CAREER.
-Techniques for effective group discussions were demonstrated, preparing students for competitive environments.
The session was interactive, with students actively participating and engaging with the speakers. This initiative not only enhanced their legal literacy but also prepared them for future career challenges
