Ms. Rachana Dhar is currently working as an Assistant Professor of Law at Indian Institute of Legal Studies Cooch Behar. She has completed her graduation in law (B.A.LL.B.) from Indian Institute of Legal Studies, Siliguri in the year 2021. She has completed her LL.M. with specialisation in Constitutional and Administrative Law from Christ (Deemed to be University), Bangalore in the year 2022. She is a first rank holder in her graduation and has secured first division in her post-graduation. She has presented her dissertation on the topic “Capital Punishment in India: A Critical Analysis with reference to International Human Rights Law” under the supervision of Dr. (Prof.) Achyutananda Mishra. She has completed one month certificate course on Understanding Research Method. She has also attended virtual summer school on ‘International Legal System in the Age of Pandemic’ conducted by Indian Society for legal Research in the year 2020. She has published three research papers in various journals and edited books.
Previously, she has worked as a legal trainee and Internship Coordinator at LeDroit India LLP for a period of 11 months. Her interest lies in Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Labour Laws, Jurisprudence, Human Rights, International Law, Feminist Jurisprudence etc.
