
Miss Shilpi Dhar is a distinguished academic and legal professional serving as an Assistant Professor of Law at the Indian Institute of Legal Studies (IILS), Coochbehar. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role, underpinned by an LLM in Corporate and Commercial Law (2023) from Cooch Behar Panchanan Barma University and a BBA.LLB (2022) from IILS, Siliguri.
Her academic interests lie at the intersection of law and societal issues, with a strong focus on farmers' rights and intellectual property. Her dissertation, “A Study on the Protection of Farmers’ Rights with Special Reference to Intellectual Property Rights,” showcases her ability to tackle pressing legal challenges in India's agricultural sector.
Before joining IILS, she gained valuable teaching experience at K.V. Ranga Reddy Law College, Hyderabad, where she developed a keen ability to mentor students and provide them with a practical understanding of the law. Additionally, her internships at the Sikkim Human Rights Commission and the Office of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Coochbehar District Court, enriched her professional perspective, allowing her to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and real-world legal application.
She is committed to staying at the forefront of legal developments and has actively participated in workshops and webinars, such as:
