Free Legal Aid and Awareness Camp at Jurapani High School, Dhupguri

Indian Institute of Legal Studies Cooch Behar has conducted a legal awareness camp at Jurapani High School in Dhupguri. The event was organized with the active participation of the students of L.L.B 4th semester.

The seminar covered a range of contemporary legal topics including the POCSO Act, human trafficking, consumer protection rights, cyber crimes and the Cyber Protection Act, child marriage, and other pertinent legal issues.

Speakers and Their Topics -

1. Mr. Soumyadeep Ghosh ,  Assistant Professor of Law  – Career Counseling and the Importance of Legal education of Ensuring Gender Justice.

2. Mr. Narayan  Sutradhar , LL.B IV – Sexsual Abuse of Children ( POCSO)

3. Mr. Shibshankar Saha , LL.B IV – Human Trafficking in India

4. Mr. Tanmoy Sarkar , LL.B IV – Human Security and Cyber Crimes.

5. Ms. Sayantani Barman, LL.B IV – Prohibition of Child Marriages and Relevant Legislation

6. Ms. Jolly Biswas, LL.B IV – Consumer Rights Awareness on Buying Products and Online Shopping

7. Mr. Manu Das , LL.B IV – Road Safety Laws and Legal Framework in India.

The session ended with a vote of thanks by Mr. Tanmoy Sarkar, Student Convener, Legal Aid Committee.
