The Indian Institute of Legal Studies (IILS), Cooch Behar, organized a field visit to the Majherdabri Tea Estate and its factory in Alipurduar district. This initiative, conducted as part of the B.A. LL.B. Semester VII curriculum for the subject Labour and Industrial Law-II, aimed to provide students with firsthand exposure to labour practices, industrial operations and the socio-legal dynamics of the tea industry.

The primary goal was to help students understand the practical application of labour laws in the context of a working tea estate and factory. By observing the operations, management practices, and worker relations, the students gained insights into the real-world challenges and opportunities within an industrial framework.
